Bahar Abbassi, MD

Dr. Bahar Abbassi is a Texan by birth but has adopted Florida as her home. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the prestigious liberal arts school Austin College. Following her bachelors, Dr. Abbassi went on to earn her master’s in medical sciences at the University of North Texas before enrolling at Texas A&M Medical school.  She was top of her medical class the first year.  Graduating with honors, she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2016.    Dr. Abbassi was drawn to the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery because of the dynamic and wide breadth of treatments addressing patient concerns. Dr. Abbassi graduated in the top 3 of her class at Texas A&M and then successfully matched into the competitive Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

During her 6 years of residency in Tampa, Dr. Abbassi fell in love with the Tampa Bay area. Being an avid outdoor adventurer and competitive athlete, Dr. Abbassi was well matched with Florida’s active way of life.  Following her residency, Dr. Abbassi completed the Fellowship program in aesthetic surgery at the Aesthetics Center for Plastic Surgery in Houston, Texas. During her time there, she trained under 6 world renowned plastic surgeons.  After completing 7 years of surgical training, Dr. Abbassi is excited to once again call Tampa Bay home and to be an important part of Coundouriotis Facial Plastic Surgery and Laser Center.

Dr. Abbassi has an eye for fine details and is known for her warmth and bright demeanor.  She believes that plastic surgery should be done with finesse and produce natural and authentic looking results. Dr. Abbassi takes the time to listen to her patients and builds a lasting rapport with them. She works closely with her patients to tailor individualized treatment options and surgical plans to address their concerns. Dr. Abbassi’s scope of practice includes face, breast, body and BBL surgery.
