Liposuction

Liposuction consists of a minimally invasive use of a cannula and vacuum suction to remove excess fatty tissue from certain areas of the body. It is a wonderful solo treatment option or is often used in combination with various other plastic surgery procedures. During the fat harvest a fluid solution is injected into your tissue to minimize the post operative pain as well as bleeding. This solution is called tumescence. Because of this solution, post operative drainage is common and diligent use of compression garments for 6 weeks post-surgery is imperative. In addition, lymphatic massages should be used in conjunction to compression to aide and accelerate the healing process and decrease swelling and internal scar tissue formation.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is a medical condition in which there is excess glandular breast tissue in the male chest. During this operation the glandular tissue is directly excised through and incision concealed within the areola. Often this operation is also performed in conjunction with liposuction to improve the contour of the chest well as well. Diligent use of compression is paramount for 6 weeks post operatively.

Abdominoplasty/Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck procedure involves surgical excision and removal of excess skin and fatty tissue from the abdomen. The scar for a tummy tuck span transversely from hip to hip and is kept low to allow it to be easily concealed within a bikini or underwear line. Often during pregnancy, the rectus abdominis muscles are stretched and separated from each other at midline creating laxity in the abdominal wall, this is called rectus diastasis. During a tummy tuck procedure, a rectus plication is performed in which these muscles are returned to their normal anatomic position and the rectus diastasis is directly repaired. In addition to the low transverse abdominal scar you can expect to have a new scar around the belly button as well.
